Policies, Terms & Conditions

When you book accommodation or services at Aborigines Beach Resort, you agree to the following terms and conditions. The terms & conditions herein stated should not be construed to be complete and exclusive.

Confirmed Bookings

All bookings are held in good faith for the arrival to the departure dates listed in the reservation system, at the rate specified at the time of booking. A  minimum of 50% payment for your booking should be received by the Resort in advance of your arrival. A reservation is confirmed with a payment. Prices are subject to change without prior notice. An unsecured booking will be subject to the prevailing rate at the time of payment. You undertake that you are of legal age; that all details you provide as part of the booking process, payment process or any purchase on this website are correct; that the credit card used is your own; and that there are sufficient funds to cover the cost of the accommodations and other products & services.

Reservations may be cancelled if any of the above conditions cannot be met and verified. Any reservation made is not confirmed or held until replied with a Letter of Confirmation or a Voucher through email or electronic messaging by the Resort Reservations. Once a booking is confirmed and the guest does not occupy the room on the due date, the advance payment would be forfeited. Confirmed bookings may be rescheduled at your request by email, subject to availability, except for Peak season at the rate of GHC100 per Room. This doesn’t mean that advance payment would be offset for another guest for the same date(s).

Package deals, add-ons and PROMOS

These are offered from time to time and are subject to further terms and conditions that may or may not be detailed in the website. These terms and conditions may be confirmed by contacting the Resort Reservations prior to booking. Bookings for these packages indicate acceptance of all additional specific terms and conditions. Any and all package deals, add-ons and PROMOS may be withdrawn at any time without notice. Bookings of package deals, add-ons & PROMO purchases are non-refundable, non-exchangeable and non-transferable.

Minimum Stay

Package deals and some standard rate bookings during peak periods require minimum nightly stay. Changes to reservations that do not meet minimum stay may be refused. Early check-out’s for reservations with minimum stay requirements may not be refunded. While we do our best to inform the guests of our policies, it is ultimately the guests’ responsibility to be aware of any minimum stay requirements of their reservation.

Meals, Spa services & incidentals not mentioned in the inclusions are additional charges.

Children under 6 years old sharing with an adult are free of accommodations only.

Children staying and sharing with 1 or 2 paying adults:

  • Up to 6 years – No Charge (Maximum of 2 children per room)

  • 7 to 12 years – No Charge (Maximum of 1 child per room sharing with either 1 or 2 adults), each additional child pays 30% of the applicable room rate

  • 13 to 17 years sharing with 1 or 2 adults – each child pays 50% of applicable room rate

Children staying in own rooms;

  • Up to 17 years having exclusive use of room – Room charge is at 80% of applicable room rate, depending on occupancy

 

Children of 18 years & over traveling with parents are charged adult rates.

​All rates are subject to change, without prior notice. All rates are for:

  • 1 to 2 adults – Standard, Deluxe and Executive Garden and Sea View Rooms (plus additional charge for maximum 1 extra guest if adult)

  • 1 to 3 adults – Royal Sea View Room

  • 1 to 3 adults – Family Sea view Room

  • 1 to 3 adults – Family Garden View Room  

Special requests made during reservation of bookings for additional services, amended check-in/out times or particular Rooms/views are subject to availability and may incur additional costs. Requests cannot be guaranteed until check-in.

Changes to the details provided

It is your responsibility to inform the Resort Reservations of any changes to the details you gave as soon as possible. Failure to do so may result in the cancellation of the reservation without refund. Also, the Resort will not be held liable for the delay or failure to carry out an obligation or arrangement of the changes due to your failure or delay in informing the changes. In such cases of failure or delay, the Resort must be granted a reasonable extension of time to perform the obligation or arrangement.

Cancellation/No Show Policy/Re-booking

Cancellation must be informed through, messaging, through email or through the website. Cancellation made:

  • Less than 3 days prior to arrival date– payment is forfeited

  • 4 -7 days prior to arrival date– 30% of the total amount will be forfeited

  • More than 7 days prior to arrival date– 10% of the total amount will be forfeited

  • Refunds are not issued during high peak seasons like holidays such as Easter or Christmas. During such periods, the guest is credited for a rebooking.

 

Early Departure/Shortened Stays:

Guests who check out of the resort prior to their scheduled departure date will be charged in full for the entire booking.

Refunds for Credit Card Payments will be made after complete payment and after the bank declares that there is no irregularity in the transaction. Refunds necessitated by hardware or software malfunction will be done as exact reversals of the amount and currency received by the resort. Aborigines Beach Resort is not liable for any extra costs that would be caused by technical hitches from third party suppliers.

“Shortened Stays” & “No Shows” for confirmed bookings will not be refunded. For group or corporate booking, cancellation can be confirmed with the Resort Reservations by the authorized representative for the group, or the person who made the reservations.

A rescheduling (re-booking) or other arrangements may, at the sole discretion of the Resort, be considered with a fee of GHC 100, but subject to availability and within six (6) months from time of booking. The rate at the time of booking will prevail, but if a schedule will be changed from lean period to peak period, the price difference will be collected.

 

Force Majeure

Aborigines Beach Resort shall not be held liable for cancellation of bookings and shortened stays because of force majeure/acts of God or conditions beyond the Resort’s control, which include floods, earthquakes, explosions, fire, civil disobedience, war, epidemic/pandemic, legislation not in force at the date of this agreement, labor disputes or delays of third parties. Also, the Resort will not be held liable for failure to carry out arrangements and other obligations due to the same circumstances. In such cases, the Resort must be granted a reasonable extension of time to perform the obligations or arrangements.

A rescheduling (re-booking) or other arrangements may, at the sole discretion of the Resort shall be considered without re-booking fee, but subject to availability and within six (6) months from time of booking. The rate at the time of booking will prevail, but if a schedule will be changed from lean period to peak period, the price difference will be collected.

 

Check-in Time 2:00 pm

Early check-in may be requested in advance, but is based on room availability upon arrival. Should you wish to secure the availability of the accommodation for an early check-in before 2:00pm, the booking should be made at least 24 hours in advance.

Check-out Time 12:00 noon

The check-out time is 12:00 noon, but can be extended until 2:00 pm free of charge based on availability.

Late check-out between 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm will be charged at 50% of applicable room rate.

Late check-out after 6:00 pm will have an additional night charged at applicable room rate.

Identification

A valid passport for foreigners, and a valid government ID or valid passport for local residents should be presented upon check-in. A reservation may be denied without refund for any refusal or inability to present valid identification. The Resort requires guests who reserved by online to present their credit cards used to complete the booking at check-in.

Special requests made during booking for early arrival, late check-out, particular rooms /views and additional services are subject to availability and may incur additional costs. Requests cannot be guaranteed until check-in.

Functions and parties are not permitted in the rooms and its premises. No exceptions. The only guests that are to occupy the rooms are those who are registered with the Resort on check-in. Visitor limits apply and are enforced.

The Resort gates are closed for all visitors, including guests’ visitors, between 11 pm and 7am every day. Any checked-in guest who would want to stay out of the Resort at the a fore-mentioned period must inform the Resort beforehand. Use of parking area is at the discretion of management and further conditions may apply.

Privacy

The security of guests is of prime importance to the Resort. It is committed to protect your privacy, the confidentiality and security of personal information you provided us. The information you provide is necessary to process and confirm your reservation; and may include collecting this information in a personal profile. We may also collect information to allow us to properly process the payment of accounts.

The information you provide us may be used to:

  • Contact you in the event of an amendment to any reservations you hold
  • Create a profile to assist with any further reservations you made
  • To inform you by email, if you have so agreed when registering on our site, of our special offers and promotions that may be relevant to you

The information you provided may be disclosed to other parties that have a contractual relationship with the Resort like banks and service providers. The Resort may have legal obligations required by law to disclose information you provided to the Resort.

 

Bringing of food/drinks to Aborigines Beach Resort premises & beach is not allowed.

 

Smoking Policy
Aborigines Beach Resort’s guest rooms are 100% Smoke-Free rooms. For safety and to assure that our facility is not exposed to items or actions that create an odor which is unhealthy and objectionable to our guests and staff, and that is difficult to remove from the air, carpet, walls, and furniture we do not permit smoking tobacco, marijuana, illegal drugs, e-cigarettes, cartridges containing the liquid of nicotine, incense, cooking, cigars, candle burning, the use or diffusing of patchouli oil or other strong-smelling plant-based essential oils or synthetic products in our guest rooms or any indoor space on the premises.

Guests are encouraged to notify Front Desk staff immediately if they smell cigarette, marijuana, or other objectionable odors. Our policy is not intended to stop people from smoking, but to regulate where they smoke and how it affects others. A Designated Smoking Area is provided outside and away from the building. Marijuana is prohibited at all times.

A Ghc 2,000 cleaning fee will be charged to any guest who violates the smoking policy.
Exception on above policy applies to the outdoor restaurant and beach bar. Please note; lit tobacco or any other smoking products should never be left unattended and may only be put out in the ashtray.


Room Usage
It is not allowed to move or to remove furniture. Not in the room, or between rooms. It is also not allowed to move or remove the decoration or electrical appliances, or use them for personal purposes other than for which they are intended. Our staff will put everything back in its original place, and possible damage will be charged accordingly to you.

Pets are not allowed on Aborigines Beach Resort premises & beach.

Personal Belongings

Guests are reminded to mind their personal belongings. A safe is at hand to keep valuables secured. The Resort is not liable for such loss if there is negligence on the part of the guest, and after investigation, there is no evidence to warrant any negligence or mischief on the part of the Resort or its staff.

 

Lost & found Policy
Aborigines Beach Resort assumes no liability for lost, misplaced, stolen, or damaged valuables or belongings. If you discover that you have left behind something of value to you, please call us immediately and we will try to assist you in locating your lost item.

Found items: Aborigines Beach Resort is not responsible for any item left behind by a guest. However, any item, with the exception of perishable items, left behind by our guests and found after departure by Housekeeping will be collected, logged in, and kept in a secure location for collection by the owner for up to fourteen (14) days.

Return: We would be happy to return your lost item(s) to you by courier delivery. The delivery cost will be charged to guests plus 25% handling fee. Aborigines Beach Resort is not responsible for any item lost or misdirected during shipment by the Postal Service.

 

Damage and theft Policy
You are liable for any damage caused (whether by deliberate, negligent, or reckless acts to the room(s), hotel’s premises or property) caused by you or any person in your party whether or not staying at the hotel during your stay. Aborigines Beach Resort has the right to charge the credit /debit card/cash in such amounts as it shall in its sole discretion deem necessary to compensate or make good the cost or expenses incurred or suffered by Aborigines Beach Resort as a result of the aforesaid.

Should this damage come to light after the guest has departed, we reserve the right to contact you hereby authorize us to charge your payment for any damage incurred to your room or the Hotel property during your stay, including and without limitation for all property damage, missing or damaged items, smoking fee, cleaning fee, guest compensation, etc.

We will make every effort to rectify any damage internally prior to contracting a specialist to make the repairs, and therefore will make every effort to keep any costs that the guest would incur to a minimum.

 

Damage to room

Damage to rooms, fixtures, furnishing and equipment including the removal of electronic equipment, towels, etc. as well as damage to sheets from for example permanent marker, dyed hair color, fruit color and things that create irremovable stains will be charged at 150% of full and new replacement value plus any shipping and handling charges. Any damage to hotel property, whether accidental or willful, is the responsibility of the registered guest for each particular room. Any costs associated with repairs and/or replacement will be charged to the registered guest. In extreme cases, criminal charges will be pursued.

 

Damage to mattresses and bedding
Damage to mattresses and linen including; towels, mattress pads, sheets, bedspreads, blankets causing from the use of body oils, red wine, make-up, shoe-polish, etc. will result in a charge for the special cleaning, repair or replacement of the damaged article.

 

Damage to or tampering with fire detection/ fire-fighting equipment
Aborigines Beach Resort reserves the right to take action against any guest or visitor found to have tampered or interfered with any detection equipment throughout the hotel, including detector heads in public areas, guest rooms, break glass points and fire extinguishers. Guests or visitors found to have tampered with any fire detection or fire-fighting equipment will be charged with any costs incurred by the hotel due to their actions and will be evicted from the hotel. Depending on the severity of the guest actions, law enforcement may become involved at the hotel’s discretion.

Should the fact that fire-fighting or detection equipment had been tampered with come to light after the guest has departed, we reserve the right and you hereby authorize us to charge your credit or debit card for any damage incurred to your room or the Hotel property during your stay, including and without limitation for all property damage, missing or damaged items, smoking fee, cleaning fee, guest compensation, etc.

 

Safety Policy
Candles and incense are prohibited, except in cases vetted and approved by the resort. These items and activities will be treated as smoking, a fine accessed, and the guest may be evicted with no refunds. A cleaning fee will be charged to any guest who violates this policy.

No cooking or fireworks
The safety of our guests, staff, and this facility is extremely important to us. Except for the refrigerator unit that the hotel provides, preparation of food in guest rooms by any type of cooking appliances is prohibited. A minimum fee of Ghc 2,000 will be charged for cooking in a room, including, but not limited to coffee makers, toaster ovens, rice cookers, combustible, open flame, barbecue grill, burners, heating appliance or any other item intended for cooking. Open fires, flames or cooking grills, either charcoal or gas, and fireworks are not allowed anywhere on hotel property. All these items will immediately be removed by our staff.

Firearms and weapons
The safety and security of our guests and staff is extremely important to us. Our Firearms and Weapons Policy is designed for the protection of our guests, staff, and owners, and pertains to the presence of firearms and weapons on hotel premises. Aborigines Beach Resort recognizes that guests may legally possess firearms or weapons for a variety of legitimate purposes. This policy has been developed to create a safe environment by providing appropriate guidance over the custody of firearms and weapons on our premises.

Guests who fail to abide by our policy may be asked to leave the hotel premises, are subject to trespass and may be subject to further legal action. Exempted from this policy are law enforcement officers and designated military personnel who are on-duty and required to carry firearms in the performance of their duties. No exemption to this policy is allowed for private persons, even those licensed and permitted to carry a firearm openly or concealed under local, state, or federal law, are exempt from this policy. It is our policy to promptly turn over any firearms left on the property to the Police Office if we are unable to contact the owner.

Illness and Epidemics
Aborigines Beach Resort reserves the right to refuse accommodations to a guest arriving with a contagious disease. In cases where sickness occurs during the stay, please notify the Front Desk staff. In the case of serious sickness, you may be requested to receive appropriate health care from a nearby healthcare facility. During epidemics we are entitled to employ precautionary measures within our judgment or as required by local authorities. We may charge you a room cleaning fee as we deem appropriate under the circumstances.

Infestation
The cleanliness of our rooms is extremely important to our guests. If you bring any infestation into your room or onto our hotel premises, we may charge you for any and all costs and expenses, including immediate or urgent response requirements and loss of room revenue, that we deem necessary to address the infestation.

Fire safety Policy
Lighting and electrical appliances
Please be aware that it is dangerous to cover lights or other electrical appliances. This might cause overheating and start a fire. Therefore it is not allowed to cover lights, TV’s, water boilers using towels, wigs, clothing or any other items.

Right to refuse service
Aborigines Beach Resort is privately owned and operated. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason(s) that does not violate Government laws. Aborigines Beach resort has a zero tolerance policy in which we will refuse to admit or refuse service or accommodation in our hotel or may remove a person, without refund, who refuses to abide by the reasonable standards and policies established by law and the owners for the operation and management of the hotel. Aborigines Beach Resort will refuse service or evict a guest: for refusal or failure to pay for accommodations, is under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any other intoxicating substance and acts in a disorderly fashion as to disturb the peace of other guests or is not in compliance with laws; acts in a disorderly fashion as to disturb the peace of other guests; is unable to properly supervise their children at all times, seeks to use the hotel for an unlawful purpose; seeks to bring into the hotel: an unlawfully possessed firearm; or something, including an explosive or hazardous or toxic substance, that is unlawful to possess and that may be dangerous to other persons; destroys, damages, defaces, or threatens harm to hotel property or guests; causes or permits persons to exceed the maximum allowable occupancy of room, refuses to abide by the reasonable standards or policies established by Aborigines Beach Resort for the operation and management of our hotel.

Photography and Filming

Photography is permitted as long as it is for personal use and not to be published in any other format. Photography and filming are not permitted in any other public areas of the resort aside from designated areas and should be under the supervision of the Resort’s employee. A written approval from the Resort is required for commercial photography or images including trademarks or trade names.

Website Policies

The website may contain links to third party websites that may or may not have a contractual relationship with the Resort. The Resort has no control over these websites and accepts no liability for any content, damage or harm as a result of visiting these websites. We will not guarantee that any file or program available for download or execution from or via this site is free from any viruses or other conditions that may damage or interfere with hardware, software or data. We accept no liability for any damage or harm as a result of the use of this website or any files or pages linked from it.
